Hello! My name is Lea Ann Peterson. That’s pronounced ‘Lee Ann’, in case you were wondering.

You are clearly looking for a freelance fundraiser to add to your team. Excellent. That’s what I do! Let’s see if we might be a good fit!

First, why do I write for nonprofits? Simple. I believe words have the power to change the world. And this beautiful world needs help. I believe in fighting for social justice and a sustainable environment. There is no more worthy vocation than the service of others.

Second, why work with me? I consider myself a beginner fundraiser. I’ve been an AWAI-Verified direct response copywriter for several years, but only recently chosen to pursue fundraising as a profession. Before making the leap, I’ve spent considerable time and effort learning the fundraising ropes from the best in the business. I’m a member of the Fundraisingology Lab and became a Moceanic Certified Fundraising Specialist. I learned the art & science of donor-centered fundraising from experts like Tom Ahern, Jeff Brooks, and Sean Triner. And as a member of the Lab, I have access to advice and ideas from hundreds of other fundraisers all over the world.

After all, it’s not what you know… it’s who you know! Fundraising is a community of amazing people with incredible ideas. When we work together, we can make the change we want to see in the world.
